Global vLEI was the first QVI established in Europe and focuses on issuing verifiable Legal Entity Identifiers (vLEIs). These digital credentials extend the LEI system with cryptographic proof of both entity and role-level identity, enabling secure and automated verification in digital transactions.
The rebrand reflects the company’s shift to a global focus, while maintaining its connection to NordLEI, Scandinavia’s leading LEI issuer. Since 2014, NordLEI has issued more than 178,000 LEIs to organizations across the world. NordLEI continues to provide LEIs as a GLEIF-accredited Local Operating Unit (LOU), while Global vLEI now leads on digital identity innovation through the vLEI.
“Requalifying as a QVI under our new identity marks a major step forward,” said Anders Åström, CEO of Global vLEI. “The vLEI is a global standard for digital organizational identity, and we are ready to support adoption across sectors worldwide.”
Global vLEI was the exclusive QVI in the European Banking Authority’s 2024–2025 vLEI pilot. The company is now preparing to support broader adoption of vLEI credentials in finance, regulatory reporting, and international trade.
Together, NordLEI and Global vLEI form the only corporate group globally that offers both LEI and vLEI services under a single structure.
